Staff at Cooper Carriers are in a buoyant mood after the firm celebrated its 20th year at its Kinmel Bay depot.
Cooper Carriers is part of the Countrywide Freight Group, the market leader in parcel, pallet and groupage collection with delivery services between the UK and Ireland, and also a member of Palletways, the UK’s largest and fastest growing express palletised freight network.
Paul Mountford, group divisional director at Countrywide Freight Group, said Cooper Carriers has become a major player in transport throughout North and Mid Wales. He comments: “The business has grown significantly since it was established in 1921 when we initially handled around 125 pallets per day, which has increased over the years to a daily volume of 200. To date, we’ve handled more than 210,000 for Palletways.
“I’d like to thank employees, past and present, who have helped to ensure that Cooper Carriers is at the forefront of parcel and palletised distributions services throughout North and Mid Wales. I look forward to delivering customer service excellence and continued growth for many more decades to come.”
Barry Byers, Palletways’ network development director, added: “To have been in business in this sector for this long and at the same depot for two decades is a fantastic achievement and is testament to the hard work of the entire team.”
Cooper Carriers is one of over 115 independent transport providers that are part of the Palletways UK network. They benefit from shared expertise and resources from within the group to deliver consignments of palletised freight to market faster and more cost effectively than ever before. The Palletways Group comprises 450+ depots and 20 hub operations, through which it provides collection and distribution services across 20 European countries, including the UK.
