Palletways Cardiff, part of Europe’s largest and fastest growing express palletised freight network Palletways, has invested in a branded trailer for Direct Healthcare Group, a leading UK provider of pressure care technologies and specialist seating. The healthcare manufacturer recently appointed Palletways Cardiff as its national palletised network supplier.
The trailer, accompanied by its Palletways Cardiff-branded Mercedes Actros Euro 6 low emission tractor unit, was revealed to the team at Direct Healthcare Group’s HQ in Caerphilly this week.
Steve Blackmore, Sales Manager at Palletways Cardiff, comments: “The trailer, liveried with Direct Healthcare Group’s branding on the curtains, will help to promote the business as we transport their products, including pressure relief mattresses, cushions and specialist seating, to hospitals and care homes across the UK.”
Direct Healthcare Group specialises in the manufacture and distribution of products designed to overcome the healthcare challenges associated with reduced patient movement, many of which are designed in partnership with leading clinical and healthcare establishments. Care ranges from effective prevention and treatment of pressure ulcers, to supporting patients with complex, long term conditions.
Gerry Boyle, Operations Director at Direct Healthcare Group, adds: “It’s important to have a reliable pallet distributor to keep up with growing demand and support us in our service delivery. Our newly formed relationship with Palletways Cardiff is already reaping rewards. The team has a solid understanding of our business and customers which is resulting in consistent delivery of a great service. We’re delighted with our branded trailer and the commitment to our business shown by the Cardiff team.”
Palletways Cardiff recently took delivery of twenty-two new Mercedes trucks and ten trailers following a £7 million investment by the Palletways Group, one of which has been designated specifically for Direct Healthcare Group. The investment helps the company meet upcoming peaks in demand and its growth plans for the forthcoming year, by increasing capacity.
Part of a network of 115 UK depots, the Cardiff business handles single pallet loads to large scale consignments within the CF postcode area. It employs seventeen drivers for its evening trunking operations and daily collections and deliveries, from a single pallet through to a full 27T–28T trailer load.
Palletways Cardiff is one of over 115 independent transport providers that are part of the Palletways UK network. They benefit from shared expertise and resources from within the group to deliver consignments of palletised freight to market faster and more cost effectively than ever before. The Palletways Group comprises 450+ depots and 20 hub operations, through which it provides collection and distribution services across 20 European countries, including the UK.
